Has anyone ever noticed how the top of a dog's head looks like a heart?
Where there is great love, there are also great miracles.
About Lori
I am a professional animal behavior specialist, canine trainer and rehabilitator, and animal intuitive with over 30 years of personal, professional and volunteer experience serving animals and their communities around the world. I consider myself to be a dog expert.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved and connected with animals. My very first real life lesson came from a dog named Bunny, when I was five years old, when I learned what death and euthanasia mean. Since then, every important life lesson I have learned has been connected to an animal.
After I graduated from Boston University with a degree in Marketing and Communications, I spent twenty years of my professional life in corporate America, and I left my true joy, serving animals, to weekends, off work hours holidays and leaves of absences.
I spent years rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, and volunteering for countless animal welfare organizations in the United States and internationally. I traveled to foreign countries, rescuing animals who were horribly abused and neglected and educating local communities about humane animal treatment and care. I spent time with the injured, the ill and the children, and I helped them to connect with the love that all animals demonstrate in every aspect of their being, every moment of their day, every day of their lives. During those times, I saw miracles happen.
Not a day went by when I did not ask myself how I could serve animals and the people in their world on a full time, permanent basis. After twenty years of asking, the Universe responded once again.
After applying for a full time position as a Professional Canine Trainer and Behavior Specialist, I was one of seven out if almost one thousand chosen to be trained in an intensive dog training program with Master Instructor, John Van Olden, who had over twenty years of experience in canine behavior training and consulting; he began his core of experience training military service dogs at The Department of Defense Dog Training School at Lackland Air Base in San Antonio, Texas.
It was an excellent, intensive, hands-on program both in classroom and in shelters with dogs. John is an excellent handler, and through his tutelage and guidance, I soon became one too. My life was transformed in a way I had never experienced – through my service to animals and their communities I found true joy and bliss.
It didn’t take long for me to realize that there was still more to effective training. I studied wolf behavior, and human behavior. In the process, I found answers to the most profound questions of life – all life as we know it, on my own path of spiritual awareness.
At the heart of that wonderful and amazing dog training experience, and all of my experiences, here is I learned:
Nothing in the world really matters except for love, peace, joy, service, health and harmony. And here’s the really amazing part: dogs already know this and they are trying to teach it to us.
I want the world to know that animals are spiritual beings, just like humans. More important, if humans could understand the more about the core of spirituality in all living beings, both human and non human, we would also come to see that all living beings are loveable and valuable, and that all living beings deserve and require respect, kindness and love and understanding.
There are so many amazing lessons that canines, as well as all animals, teach us, if we only respect and love them, and let them lead us, through the process of becoming leaders to all in our own lives.
It is time to transform the way we interact with all animals, and dogs are here to teach us how. Let’s allow the dogs in our lives to enlighten us about the god in our lives.
