efil's god Boot Camp
One of the most important aspects of proper dog training is the development and growth of a trust bond between owner and dog. This happens naturally in any training work between dog and owner, and naturally grows over time.
In boot camp, we train your efil’s god for you using the method and philosophy that you’ve read about in the efil’s god Dog Training programs, and after boot camp, we work with you so you learn how to lead your efil’s god dog based on the principals covered during boot camp.
Boot camp is a term we use when referring to training for the life of your dog. These fundamentals actually come from government trained service dogs.
These dogs are trained by initially taking away certain liberties so the dogs rely entirely on their handlers for survival. The result is a dog who is able to receive direction and become more and more obedient over time. More importantly, these dogs learn to fully trust and respect their handlers as pack leaders.
During this process, we introduce continuous stimuli to help the dog focus and obey in any given situation. We use every element of the dog's senses to do this.
These senses include:
•The five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) of the left brain
•The sixth senses (energy, vibration, timing, feeling) of the right brain
•The “seventh” sense (the balance, movement and stillness) in between
Why would we, as trainers, handlers, rescuers, owners ignore the dog's key senses?
Have you ever wondered why dogs smell other dogs and humans? It's because with one sniff, they can size up the gender, breed, age, health, energy level and place in the pack hierarchy (dominance level) that the other being has. Amazing, eh? This is why some dogs like some dogs and not others; it's a matter of compatibility communicated through a dog's scent sense.
All of these elements combined add up to huge success, and in my experience, 100% reliability in the dog provided that the owner and family members, do their part of the work.
No matter what any trainer may say, real training is not something you do for twenty to forty minutes a day - it goes on all day long, even if the training involves not actually training and even if you are not home at that moment.
Boot camp is best for families who simply do not have the time to work with their dogs on a daily and sometimes minute by minute basis, or who honestly feel that their dogs need training in spite of that.
In this case, as with all of our all programs, we will sit down and do a personal consultation where we assess your dog’s needs, your needs and set up a uniquely individual training program for your pack.
